Role

The Harness Manufacturing Intern will support the design, build, and continuous improvement of wire harness and cable assembly processes. This role provides hands-on exposure to production environments, manufacturing documentation, quality systems, and process optimization in a low/medium volume production setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing engineers with process documentation and work instruction review
  • Assist with wire harness and cable assembly builds, including cutting, stripping, crimping, labeling, and lacing
  • Participate in quality inspections
  • Help analyze manufacturing issues such as defects, rework, and throughput constraints
  • Assist with equipment qualification, tooling and fixture improvements, and test setups
  • Support DFM/DFA feedback to engineering teams
  • Collect and review production data for process improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • A passion for hardware development, including working in a fast-paced environment and hands-on design and development
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Strong communication skills
  • Familiarity with spacecraft systems and operation
  • Must be onsite 5 days a week

Bonus

  • Hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing any type or hardware
  • Experience working a laboratory or industrial environment
  • Experience in CAD
  • Direct electrical or mechanical design experience

Base Hourly Pay $29 - $29 USD
