Equipment Manager/Technician
Job Summary
The Equipment Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and preventative care of all groundskeeping equipment and tools. This role manages parts purchasing and recordkeeping, trains equipment operators, and assists with assigned work on the golf course as needed.
Essential Job Functions
Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Inspect and maintain mowing equipment to identify repair and maintenance needs; report issues to the Superintendent.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mowing equipment, golf carts, small tractors, loaders, and related vehicles.
- Establish and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all golf course equipment, golf cart fleet, and club vehicles.
- Operate small engine equipment, golf carts, small tractors, and loaders as required.
- Train equipment operators in proper, safe operation of all equipment.
- Purchase parts and supplies necessary for equipment and golf cart maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records related to equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of safety practices and ensure all procedures are followed in daily operations; adhere to the club's safety program.
- Attend and actively participate in scheduled staff meetings.
- Assist with on-course work assignments such as topdressing, aerification, and related tasks.
- Assist with snow removal for facilities and surrounding roadways as needed.
- Provide weekend support for maintenance department needs as required.

- Working knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment and automotive systems.
- Proficiency in using a variety of equipment repair tools and performing mechanical repairs.
- Knowledge of the theory, operation, and maintenance of internal combustion engines and mowing equipment.
- Understanding of workplace hazards and safety precautions related to equipment repair.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain accurate maintenance records.
Compensation
The compensation package for this position ranges from $60,000 - $70,000, with additional incentives available based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
