The San Francisco Police Department is seeking Retired Peace Officers with valid POST certification and Reserve Level-I Peace Officers to join a highly respected police department that serves a diverse community in one of the most beautiful cities in the country. San Francisco Special Event Police Officers perform a wide variety of duties to promote public safety and security in and around the various event centers, city-wide events and other city venues.

Applicants must meet and maintain required peace officer employment standards as required by POST. Retirees who were medically retired (industrial or non-industrial) should confirm with their retirement plan that accepting employment as an "as-needed" San Francisco Special Events Officer will not jeopardize their pension. Applicants must possess the strength and physical ability necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. Additionally, applicants must possess hearing, speech and mental capabilities sufficient to perform all of the essential functions of the position. Applicants must be willing to be fingerprinted, pass a departmental interview, psychological, medical, and background investigation prior to appointment.
Applicants will be required to work special events and will be required to work odd and unusual hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Applicants will be required to provide safety equipment (defined as ballistic vest, duty belt and related equipment). Firearm will be provided by San Francisco Police Dept.
