Location: Fremont, CA

Shift: M-F 8:00am-4:45pm

Pay Range: $25 - $26 [hourly]

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor, provides support for the maintenance related needs of all buildings and grounds.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provides general and detailed maintenance (either with direct or indirect supervision), including patching, painting, hardware repairs and other repair/replacement work as required.

• Perform general maintenance (e.g. change light bulbs, maintain exterior property including debris or water remove, etc.) and manual repairs as needed.

• Performs routine facility and equipment maintenance, daily inspections of assigned buildings and spaces.

• Perform on going preventive maintenance and repair work on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems

• Specific functions include, but are not limited to mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, wiping,washing, polishing and dusting floors, carpet, walls, windows, and doors; trash and recycling removal; cleaning offices and other areas as required.

• Completes all documentation for work performed, in a timely manner, maintains appropriate service and repair records.

• Oversees and performs the duties associated with events, including executing the set-up plan in a timely manner, break-downs are completed on schedule with spaces returned to normal state.

• Respond to emergency call-ins (on scheduled days) during storms or natural disasters that require grounds to be cleared of debris or water.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• A thorough knowledge of general maintenance procedures along with a skill set that includes basic proficiencies in some or all of the following: plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical/mechanical systems.

• Ability to use basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and custodial hand and electric powered tools.

• Good verbal and written communication skills, with ability to receive and respond to work assignments in both formats.

• Strong command of the English language both spoken and written, read, comprehend, and work from plans and operating instructions.

• Ability to develop strong relationships with other internal departments.

• Demonstrated time management skills and including multi-tasking.

• Aptitude for organizing tasks, managing time and prioritizing projects, excellent time management and task tracking skills to meet deadlines.

• Keep computerized records and prepare reports. Access and employ job related computer software (email, work planning, time-keeping) at an effective proficiency level.

• Works independently with limited supervision, interacting effectively with and quickly gaining the respect and support of facilities and building staff

• Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

• Must be willing to work overtime to support needs of business

• Must be physically capable of standing for long periods of time lifting and carrying objects up to 50

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GED, Technical degree preferred.

• 1 - 2 years of verifiable experience maintaining various building interior and exterior surfaces, including painted and papered walls, baseboards, tiled and carpeted floor surfaces, and brass and stainless steel finishes.

• Experience with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk and listen.

• The employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell.

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
