Description:

A well-capitalized and highly regarded real estate investor in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee the full-cycle accounting for its Commercial real estate portfolio. This role reports directly to the Director of Finance and plays a key role in both the operational and technical aspects of property accounting. The portfolio is high-occupancy and well-performing within the San Francisco commercial market.

This is a fully onsite role, five days per week, with paid parking, strong health benefits, and potential employee housing discounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle accounting for the commercial property portfolio, from rent collections through financial reporting
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activity at the property level
  • Review CAM reconciliations and work closely with commercial property managers on lease admin, recoveries, billings, and tenant inquiries
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance across all property-level accounting activities
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Maintain and utilize Yardi for all property accounting and reporting functions
  • Partner closely with operations and finance leadership to support portfolio performance
  • Uphold company values with a high level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • 5+ years of experience in real estate property accounting, ideally within commercial real estate
  • Experience overseeing accounting for multiple properties and managing all related financial line items
  • Strong working knowledge of Yardi (or similar system)
  • Intermediate Excel skills required
  • Exposure to CAM reconciliations and commercial property management collaboration strongly preferred
  • Candidates coming directly from public accounting with real estate clients will be considered
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and a strong sense of ownership
