Dispatcher

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dispatcher to pair motor vehicles and drivers each morning before the start of their daily routes. The position is a full-time role from Sunday to Thursday, with hours from 11 am to 8 pm, though some flexibility to adjust these hours may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Dispatch all drivers and helpers efficiently.
  • Maintain daily record-keeping for agency and helpers for payroll purposes.
  • Record and manage all materials issued to drivers, such as gas cards, fob keys, and radios.
  • Keep inventory of hand trucks and update the corresponding spreadsheet.
  • Maintain and update the EZ-Pass account.
  • Respond to all emails within five minutes and ensure continuous follow-up until resolved.
  • Complete hand-off logs accurately, regardless of issues.
  • Ensure all phones are maintained and charged.
  • Monitor Geo Tab and address any alerts with drivers.
  • Update routers with delivery windows and resolve any address issues.
  • Check emails for updates, changes, or notes before dispatching.
  • Answer all phone messages promptly.
  • Monitor Mobile Cast and address any issues that drivers encounter.
  • Complete and submit the daily activity sheet and Wufoo report.
  • Update the pickup sheet with purchasing information twice daily at 2 pm and 4 pm.
  • Send email updates regarding any route issues, including delays.
  • Update the invoice register in AS400.
  • Follow up on all pickups with drivers during the day to preempt issues.
  • Assist drivers with directions, roadside assistance, and accident guidelines.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of dispatch experience, preferably in the transportation industry.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
