Our client is looking for a highly experienced Staff Backend Engineer to join their fast-paced, product-driven startup environment. This role is ideal for someone with at least 8 years of experience in backend development who has demonstrated clear career progression-from Software Engineer to increasingly senior technical roles. This position is fully remote.

Staff Backend Engineer's Responsibilities and Duties:

• Lead architecture and development of scalable backend systems using TypeScript, NestJS, and GraphQL
• Partner closely with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver seamless end-to-end features
• Define and uphold engineering best practices, code quality, and performance standards
• Mentor mid-level and senior engineers while championing technical growth across the team
• Influence product strategy by contributing backend insights during planning and design

Staff Backend Engineer's Qualifications and Skills:

• At least 8 years of backend development experience in high-growth startup environments
• Deep knowledge of TypeScript, NestJS, GraphQL, and experience interfacing with NextJS/React Native
• Strong architectural intuition and ability to scale backend systems
• Clear career trajectory demonstrating promotions and increasing responsibility
• Full-time startup experience only.
