Description

The New York City office of a global law firm seeks an Insurance Defense Associate on a temporary basis (possibility of permanent conversion). The schedule is hybrid: three days onsite; two days remote. The hourly rate is $50-$60, depending upon experience.

Primary Duties:

You will join a highly-regarded insurance defense practice representing a broad spectrum of industries and individuals ranging from nursing homes and premises owners to engineers and doctors. Working closely with a Senior Partner you will be involved with complex cases from inception to conclusion. Additional duties include the following:

• Assist with drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery demands and responses.
• Assist with the discovery process by administering depositions, issuing interrogatories and reviewing documents.
• Perform legal research.
• Make court appearances.

Requirements:

• New York State bar admission
• Prior insurance defense experience
