Research and Development Engineer (R&D Engineer)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Research and Development Engineer to join our team. This position plays a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing new products, processes, and technologies.The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background, a proven ability to drive innovation, and a Professional Engineer (PE) license valid in multiple states, along with hands-on experience in 179D energy modeling and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead research and development initiatives to advance technology, product offerings, and process improvements.

• Design, develop, and test prototypes, ensuring scalability and alignment with project goals.

• Conduct energy modeling and analysis for 179D tax deductions and certifications.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality assurance, to bring new concepts to market.

• Provide technical expertise, guidance, and support to internal teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

• Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to identify new opportunities for innovation.

• Prepare detailed technical documentation, test results, and engineering reports for stakeholders.

• Present findings and recommendations to leadership, clients, and external partners.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related field.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license with multi-state certification (required).

• Experience with 179D energy modeling, documentation, and compliance (required).

• 5+ years of experience in research and development engineering,

• Strong technical skills with proficiency in engineering principles, materials science, and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.

• Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept to commercialization.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and drive innovative solutions.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
