Job Title: Process Engineer
Location: Remote, Canada

Position Overview:

Process Engineer with a valid Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license in Canada to join our multidisciplinary engineering team. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and execution of process engineering designs across FEED, detailed design, and EPC projects in the oil & gas, petrochemical, hydrogen, and carbon capture sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and review process engineering deliverables such as Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, Heat and Material Balances (HMBs), and process simulations.
• Conduct equipment sizing, hydraulic calculations, and relief valve sizing in accordance with project and industry standards.
• Create process datasheets, line lists, and process descriptions.
• Perform steady-state and dynamic process simulations using tools like Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or ProMax.
• Ensure process safety through participation in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL assessments, and risk reviews.
• Support interdisciplinary coordination with mechanical, piping, electrical, and control teams.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and project teams during design reviews and technical meetings.
• Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with Canadian regulations, industry codes (ASME, API), and environmental standards.

• Bachelor's degree in chemical or Process Engineering (Master's preferred).
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) certification from a Canadian engineering association (PEO, APEGA, EGBC, or equivalent).
• 8-15 years of experience in process engineering for oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, or energy projects.
• Proficiency in process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ProMax, ChemCAD).
• Strong working knowledge of international and Canadian process design codes and safety standards.
• Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.

• Experience in decarbonization, hydrogen, carbon capture, and sustainable fuels projects.
• Familiarity with modular plant design and packaged process units.
• Field experience in commissioning and startup of process units.
• Knowledge of flare system design, mass and energy balances, and process optimization techniques.
