We're looking for a competitive, highly creative sales leader with strong experience in leading and training sales talent in broadcast, new business development, sports sponsorship sales, experiential, digital and podcasting platforms. Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

• Responsible for exceeding revenue objectives including sports-related sales revenue targets by impacting people (account executives and clients).
• Develop, lead, refine, and maintain discipline on sales training for sellers in business development using traditional, digital and other non-traditional marketing channels to meet client's objectives.
• Lead and train sales team in evolving media trends— including but not limited to — digital audio, attribution, data, digital.
• Develop, renew, solidify and maintain strong relationships with clients, prospects & agencies to grow our sponsorship client base.
• Hold the sales team accountable to all priorities, with the ability to manage through both internal direct reporting relationships and peer groups to drive results.
• Effectively manage sports stations and play-by-play assets by adhering to policies regarding pricing, inventory, management, merchandising, commercial content, competitive product protection, etc.
• Leverage our data, scale and resources to guide sound management and operational decision-making across the sales organization.
• Create sales opportunities (audio, digital, experiential, etc.) that align with client needs & demand.
• Own financial metrics of the department, including pricing, inventory and expense management, and weekly revenue, pacing and forecasting.
• Monitor competition and trends in the market.
• Entertain clients— including weekend and evening sports events.
• Other duties as assigned; this position reports directly to the VP of Sales.

Qualifications

More About You:

• 3+ years previous sales management experience in media (preferably audio and digital) required with a strong background in business development, sports sponsorship, play-by-play, strategic account management and proven ability to generate concept-driven business not tied to ratings/efficiencies.
• Proven track record of leading and inspiring a successful sales team through change and innovation with a keen understanding of sports media sales and sponsorship best practices in today's changing (and semi-remote) environment.
• You must be a sales leader and have the skill and drive to motivate, inspire a sales team to success and contribute innovative ideas to generate revenue.
• You must be goal driven and creative, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-pace environment. To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• People first manager, capable of managing and motivating direct reports to individually drive best results.
• Requires ability to travel and the willingness to help the station develop local, regional and national business; must be a self-starter and independent worker.
• Strong background in strategic account management, sales training/leadership, pricing and budgeting required.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and organizational skills; high proficiency in Google Suite.
• Experience effectively utilizing a CMS, preferably Salesforce, to manage teams.
• High work intensity with the ability to manage various projects and products proactively, and deliver quality results on or before deadlines.
• Must have a positive attitude and a drive to win. Self-motivation is essential.
• Exceptional Presentation Skills.
• Highly skilled negotiator.
• BS/BA Degree Preferred.
• A valid driver's license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant's own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.

Additional Information

The anticipated starting base salary range for California-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $160,000 to $200,000 plus bonus. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.
