Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Principal Power Electronics Engineer to lead the design, development, and testing of innovative power systems across a range of advanced applications. This role demands a highly skilled engineer with a strong background in power electronics, capable of driving complex projects and contributing to cutting-edge solutions in power conversion, management circuitry, and system architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop sophisticated power system architectures for various applications, including miniature power conversion and distributed power systems.
  • Lead research and testing of hardware components such as radiation-hardened designs and novel battery management circuitry.
  • Optimize system designs focusing on minimizing size, weight, and power consumption.
  • Create and refine technical specifications for new product development.
  • Analyze and test hardware configurations to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external partnerships.
  • Independently resolve complex engineering challenges and adapt to evolving project requirements.
  • Engage in business development activities and contribute to proposal preparation.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks at the program/system level.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices within the team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 7-10 years of experience in Power Systems Engineering or related field.
  • Proficient in areas such as dc/dc power conversion, rectification, inversion, and battery management systems.
  • Expertise in designing and troubleshooting power electronics.
  • Experience with circuit simulation tools like Spice and system modeling tools such as MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to produce detailed technical documentation.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible for security clearance.
