Overview

As an Automotive Technician Apprentice, you will receive comprehensive training to become a skilled auto glass technician. Upon successful completion of our training program, you will earn the Safelite SafeTech certification, equipping you with the essential skills needed to carry out glass repairs, replacements, and recalibrations independently. Your Responsibilities

  • Receive paid training to learn the Safelite techniques through hands-on and classroom experience.
  • Observe and assist in the installation and repair of auto glass.
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems, troubleshoot issues, and conduct diagnostic testing.
  • Offer additional services and products to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Study diligently and pass tests to become a Safelite-certified Technician.
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles along with company-issued tools and chemicals.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.
  • Adhere to all company policies and standards.

Your Benefits

  • Starting pay of $25.50/hour, increasing to $30.25/hour after training and certification.
  • Earn $5 for each set of wiper blades added for customer safety.

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent preferred.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license and any other licenses as required by federal, state, and local laws.

Experience Requirements

  • Age 18 or older required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Capacity to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, work in tight spaces, and perform physical tasks.
  • Proficient in using various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Commitment to professional customer service excellence.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Capabilities to handle chemicals safely according to company guidelines.
  • Able to work scheduled days with flexible start and end times to meet customer needs.
  • Proficient in using computerized diagnostic tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, both independently and with others.
  • Ability to read and interpret English technical directions and communicate effectively.
  • Professional demeanor and adherence to company appearance guidelines.
