BASIC PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to assist the Program Director in monitoring the daily activities of staff and children, enforce licensing regulations, and assist with clerical duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Prepare a safe, welcoming, and clean environment that promotes exploration and growth.
  2. Engage with children and parents to encourage participation in activities.
  3. Assist the Program Director in supervising Teachers and Assistants, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  4. Monitor positive guidance among staff.
  5. Help maintain and review children's folders and assessments.
  6. Provide feedback for staff evaluations.
  7. Assist in evaluating children's environments biannually.
  8. Support training and guidance for teachers on lesson planning and developmentally appropriate practices.
  9. Fill classrooms to maintain adult-child ratios.
  10. Maintain attendance and meal records for reporting.
  11. Manage phone communications and messages.
  12. Assist families with enrollment, waiting lists, and paperwork.
  13. Maintain inventory of supplies.
  14. Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
  15. Oversee morning or closing shifts.
  16. Pursue ongoing professional development in Early Childhood Education.
  17. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
  • AA Degree required; Bachelor's preferred in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Site Supervisor permit or equivalent required.
  • At least 12 EGE units completed prior to hire.
  • CPR certification and 15 hours of Health and Safety training.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Knowledge of CLASS is helpful.
Skills
  • Minimum 5 years experience working with young children in a childcare setting.
  • At least 2 years supervising adults.
  • Ability to work actively with children and understand developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Capable of functioning effectively under stressful and changing conditions.
  • Must pass DOJ, FBI, and background checks.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent movement around the center and communication with different rooms.
