Warehouse Manager

Department: Operations - Distribution Center

Reports To: Director of Operations / Operations Manager

Location: PDC

Classification: Full-Time | Exempt

Pay Range: $85,000 - $105,000 per year

Position Summary

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and operational excellence within the Distribution Center. This role oversees all warehouse activities including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, shipping, returns, reverse logistics, and fleet/equipment management. The Warehouse Manager ensures alignment of people, processes, and systems to achieve operational goals and deliver exceptional service across retail and e-commerce channels. This role is highly cross-functional, working with inventory, logistics, customer service, and vendor partners to ensure accuracy, timeliness, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop managers, supervisors, and associates to maintain a high-performance culture.
  • Develop labor plans and allocate resources to meet KPIs.
  • Provide onboarding, skills training, and development.
  • Conduct performance reviews and improvement plans.
  • Recognize achievements while maintaining accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, safety procedures, and regulations.
2. Warehouse Operations
  • Oversee inbound, receiving, putaway, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, transfers, and returns.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and workflow.
  • Ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment for retail and e-commerce.
  • Maintain product handling standards to reduce shrinkage and damage.
  • Resolve operational challenges promptly.
3. Inventory Control
  • Coordinate with Inventory Control and Purchasing to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Oversee cycle counts, audits, and physical inventories.
  • Analyze discrepancy root causes and implement solutions.
  • Ensure NetSuite ERP accuracy and compliance.
  • Improve inventory accuracy KPIs.
4. RTV/RMA & Reverse Logistics
  • Lead RTV, RMA, and reverse logistics processes.
  • Ensure timely documentation and processing of returns and damaged goods.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Reverse Logistics teams.
  • Analyze return trends and recommend improvements.
5. Equipment, Fleet & Compliance Management
  • Oversee maintenance and safe use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and powered equipment.
  • Manage company vehicle fleet, including licensing and compliance.
  • Maintain equipment/vehicle service and inspection records.
  • Ensure DOT compliance for vehicle operations.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance with vendors.
  • Train staff on safe equipment use.
6. Safety, Compliance & Culture
  • Maintain a safety-first culture meeting OSHA and company standards.
  • Lead daily meetings to communicate priorities.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive accountability for safe practices.
7. Systems, Data & Reporting
  • Use WMS and NetSuite to track productivity and accuracy.
  • Generate KPI reports to measure performance.
  • Implement process improvements for efficiency and cost reduction.
8. Vendor, 3PL & Cross-Department Coordination
  • Maintain vendor, carrier, and 3PL relationships.
  • Coordinate with Retail, Inventory, and E-commerce teams.
  • Work with Customer Service to resolve order/delivery issues.
  • Act as the operational lead for cross-functional projects.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years warehouse or distribution leadership experience.
  • Experience managing teams of 15+ in high-volume operations.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse processes, logistics, and safety.
  • ERP/WMS experience (NetSuite preferred).
  • Data-driven approach to operational improvement.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and DOT standards.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and support floor operations.
Performance Metrics (KPIs)
  • Inventory accuracy rate (goal: 98%+).
  • Order fulfillment speed and accuracy.
  • Safety incident rate and audit scores.
  • Equipment uptime and maintenance compliance.
  • SLA compliance with vendors and 3PLs.
  • Labor productivity metrics.
  • Return rate and reverse logistics efficiency.
