This role pays: $19.57 to $21.24 Hourly DOE

Work Hours: 3:00pm to 7:30pm (May Vary)

Essential functions & responsibilities

Cleaning & Sanitation

  • Cleans dishes, utensils, trays, pots, pans, and all kitchen equipment following facility procedures and sanitation standards.
  • Operates and maintains dishwashing machines and ensures temperature logs are maintained by Title 22 and food safety guidelines.
  • Cleans and sanitizes floors, work surfaces, carts, refrigerators, stoves, ovens, fryers, steam kettles, hoods, grease traps, and other kitchen fixtures as assigned.
  • Ensures all work areas meet infection control standards and health department requirements.
Transport & Support
  • Delivers clean dishes and food supplies to dining rooms and tray service areas in a timely manner.
  • Assists with setup and breakdown of meal service, including moving carts and equipment as needed.
  • Performs routine sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and recycling duties throughout the shift.
  • Helps maintain an organized storage area and monitors supply levels.
Regulatory & Safety Compliance
  • Follows all food safety regulations (California Health & Safety Code, Title 22, HACCP standards).
  • Maintains proper PPE use, hygiene, and safe chemical handling procedures.
  • Complies with facility policies for fire safety, emergency preparedness, and equipment usage.

  • Other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed:
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Cleared Criminal Record clearance through the Department of Social Services
  • Health screening and TB test results not older than 6 months.
  • Current First Aid Training and Certifications.
  • Experience with kitchen organization
  • Good communication skills in the English language (oral and written)
  • Ability to occasionally assist with other kitchen duties.
  • Awareness of CCL regulations and must complete RCFE specific food handling training within 30 days if not already certified.
