Job Summary

The Transitional?Age Youth (TAY) Health and Wellness Center (TAY HWC) Front Desk Receptionist greets and welcomes all visitors to the Center located at 888 Post St, San Francisco, CA. The Receptionist maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for target clientsTransitional?Age Youth seeking respite, support, and recovery services.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Welcome, check?in, and direct visitors to the appropriate personal, resource, or area professionally.
• Administer required sign?in logs, intakes, assessments, surveys, and other data collection workflows.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming entry, reception, and waiting area.
• Perform routine office support tasks: data entry into Salesforce; accept/approve and route mail and deliveries; create and post notices; coordinate conference?room reservations in Outlook; provide basic technical assistance for printer and photocopier.
• Receive, track, respond to, and/or route incoming phone calls, radio calls, and emails promptly and professionally.
• Respond to routine program and operations questions, updating resources and service materials at the front desk.
• Monitor all activity in and out of the facility, operating the main security door system and monitoring security camera feeds to regulate pedestrian traffic flow.
• Collaborate with Shift Lead, Program Navigator, and Safety Monitor to prevent, deescalate, and intervene in critical incidents.
• Respond to emergencies according to established policies and protocols.
• Document and communicate safety and security concerns to TAY HWC management.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with equivalent experience sufficient to perform the essential duties.
• Experience in a social service environment serving unhoused individuals with complex needs.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to treat all visitors with respect, cultural humility, and patience.
• Computer proficiency: typing, internet research, document formatting, data entry.
• Self?starter, strong problem?solving skills, and sound judgment.
• Understanding of participant confidentiality and adherence to professional boundaries.
• Conflict resolution skills and ability to deescalate potentially volatile situations.
• Commitment to cultural humility and effectiveness across cultures.
• Commitment to the mission, values, and philosophy of GLIDE.

Work Environment

• GLIDEs building is located in the Tenderloin neighborhood.
• GLIDE maintains an "open door" policy to the community and its clients.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work at a computer and see details of objects at close range.
• Ability to hear within normal range and communicate effectively in person, via telephone, or Zoom.
• Finger dexterity and ability to use all standard office equipment.
• Ability to sit or stand comfortably and navigate office spaces (via elevator or stairs).

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $27.88 per hour (full?time, 40 hours/week). This position is covered by the collective bargaining agreement.
