A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is equivalent to graduation from a four year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering and five (5) years professional civil engineering experience, of which at least two (2) years were at the management or supervisory level. Experience in contract administration and working with citizen organizations is desirable.
Other requirements include possession of a valid California Registration as a Civil Engineer. A valid California driver's license is desirable.
