divh2Full-Time Construction Inspector/h2pWSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Construction Inspector for our Antioch, California office. The following locations will also be considered: San Francisco and San Jose. WSP has offices in Antioch, Walnut Creek, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento, Roseville, and Stockton./ph2Your Impact/h2p Read and interpret project plans and specifications/pp Monitor construction for compliance with project documents/pp Measure, calculate, and document quantities of installed materials in accordance with client policies and procedures/pp Inspect road and bridge construction (based on Caltrans Standards)/pp Review, inspect, and approve traffic control systems, including lane closures, in accordance with Caltrans standards and requirements/pp Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSPs Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures./pp Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs/ph2Who You Are/h2pstrongRequired Qualifications:/strong/pulliHigh School Diploma./liliMinimum of 5 years of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior construction inspection experience./liliValid state drivers license./liliHighly familiar with construction inspection principles, field inspection practices, process, methods and techniques/liliGrouting Inspector: American Segmental Bridge Institute (ASBI) Grouting Technician Certification/liliHighly familiar with relevant construction codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements./liliSound interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience./liliSound self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment./liliAbility to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, and comply with company policies./liliAbility to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives./liliAnalytical mindset to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions./liliBasic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, spreadsheets, and tools./liliAbility to provide input and feedback to others in the field such as subcontractors and work colleagues to consistently complete tasks safely, efficiently, and accurately according to specifications./liliProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSPs health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies./liliAbility to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek./liliOccasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements./li/ulpstrongPreferred Qualifications:/strong/pulliAssociates Degree in closely related discipline/liliTwo (2) years of education equivalent to completion of a curriculum beyond the 12th grade in either (1) engineering which includes courses in trigonometry and algebra or higher, drafting, computer science, and physics, chemistry, or a comparable physical science; or (2) surveying which includes courses in trigonometry and algebra or higher, drafting, surveying, and computer science./liliEssential professional licensure/certification./li/ulpstrongWSP Benefits:/strong/ppWSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on providing health and financial stability throughout the employees career.
