divh2Welding Process Specialist (Open)/h2pLocation: Oakland, CA - Retail shop/ppHow Will You Contribute and Grow?/ppAirgas is Hiring for a Welding Process Specialist in Oakland, CA!/ppAt Airgas, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace that embraces the diversity of our employees, our customers, patients, community stakeholders and cultures across the world./ppWe are looking for you!/pulliExpand the technical offering for Airgas industrial welding gases, hard goods, consumables, welding equipment, and safety goods./liliDevelop, and maintain relationships within the Airgas Northern California and Nevada region in order to understand the market for welding processes and metal fabrication./liliSupport the region by providing assistance in design, installation, start-up, and safety training of metal fabrication technologies./liliConduct and assist with product demonstrations at promotional events and exhibitions./liliProvide troubleshooting assistance, productivity, and/or quality improvement ideas to end-user customers./liliGenerate new sales of cylinder gases by carrying out demonstrations of our welding products./liliIncrease customer retention and satisfaction by carrying out appropriate technical stewardship of key accounts./liliMaximize account profitability by promoting our added-value products to both customers and prospects./liliMaintain Airgas reputation and image as a quality supplier of gases by providing sound technical and safety advice to customers and prospects on all welding and cutting-related activities./liliContribute to the development and introduction of new products for the fabrication market./liliCarry out welding training for sales representatives./liliMonitor competitors activity in metal fabrication, utilizing seminars, trade shows, advertising, and other contacts and information sources (i.e. manufacturers directories, professional societies, trade organizations, and distributors) to develop new prospects./li/ulpAre You a Match?/ppstrongRequired Qualifications:/strong/pulliAssociate degree in Welding, Military Weld training or Bachelors degree (Engineering), or equivalent preferred./liliMinimum 4 years welding experience or supply to the welding and fabrication industry required./liliMinimum 3 years in technical sales or direct sales to the welding and fabrication industry preferred./liliMust possess basic knowledge and understanding of welding processes and technology and a desire to continually develop skills, technical understanding, and knowledge base of Airgas value added offers to the welding fabrication industry./li/ulpstrongPreferred Qualifications:/strong/pulliPossession of AWS Certification or similar welder certifications is preferred/liliExperience in Total Quality Management, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma implementation in a fabrication or manufacturing environment is desirable./liliMust be self-motivated and results and action-oriented./liliMust have good communication skills and confidence to interact at all levels of the customer and Airgas organization./liliMust be proficient with computer applications including but not limited to Microsoft and Google office products./liliMust be able to apply mathematical formulas that quantify the costs associated with customer processes so that analysis and comparisons may be created./li/ulpBenefits/ppWe care about and support all Airgas associates.
