Company is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire an SAP Operation Support Engineer to join its team.

In this role, you will provide technical content, system support, and operational improvements for the company's Base Operations team, with occasional support for General Assembly. You'll manage SAP data, lead configuration and product-improvement initiatives, support IT systems and infrastructure, and help develop tools that increase operational efficiency across vehicle operations.

The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and experienced in SAP S4 and system operations. You thrive in fast-paced environments, communicate clearly, and enjoy solving complex system, data, and process challenges.

As an SAP Operation Support Engineer, you'll:

SAP Support & Data Management

• Serve as the data steward for SAP, maintaining vehicle lists, work centers, measuring points, counters, maintenance plans, task lists, catalog codes, and equipment structures.
• Partner with the Business Applications team on As-Maintained BOM cleanup and resolving data inaccuracies.
• Provide configuration management support in SAP for Base Operations ahead of key milestones.
• Identify and lead SAP product-improvement and automation initiatives.
• Evaluate user experience within SAP and drive enhancements to improve usability and adoption.
• Act as the primary SAP subject-matter expert, providing troubleshooting, maintenance, and ongoing system support.
• Collaborate with internal training teams to build module-specific SAP training for BaseOps users.

Systems, Infrastructure, & IT Application Support

• Provide general IT application support for critical Base Operations systems and interface with Corporate IT to advocate for operational needs.
• Lead IT infrastructure and application improvement projects informed by data insights and user feedback.
• Support development, maintenance, and operations of the technical publications/service manual authoring tools, release software, and customer-facing documentation systems.
• Improve documentation review processes in partnership with the BaseOps documentation team.
• Support the development and usage of data analytics tools, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to improve operational efficiency.
• Lead data auditing and compliance activities to ensure accuracy, governance, and system reliability.
• Communicate project status, milestones, and outcomes to internal partners and external collaborators.

Daily tasks

• As the SAP Operation Support Engineer: The primary role will be to work closely with the company Business Applications team for SAP data management, data accuracy, and SAP system improvement projects to enable system success within our Base Operations department.
• This will involve deep cross-functional collaboration with the BaseOps Program Management team, Strategic Operations, Data Science, Fleet Support team, and the BaseOps Engineering team.
• The secondary focus will be on monitoring and supporting BaseOps vital systems and assets, devising solutions, managing new software and hardware rollouts, delivering training where needed, providing maintenance and troubleshooting for any problems when they arise, and contributing to the formulation of the overarching system infrastructure within Base Operations.
• This role may also include some aspects of other support tasks website development / maintenance support of operational data analytics databases and dashboards Vehicle production line system troubleshooting Overall, this role will engage in projects and initiatives related to SAP S4, SAP MES, and other Information technology systems and the creation of tools and processes that promote system efficiency while contributing to the operational uptime of our production and autonomous fleet.
• Responsibilities: SAP support: Acting data steward for SAP data management - Vehicle list, Work Center, Measuring points and counters, Maintenance Task list, Maintenance plan, Catalog Codes, maintaining the Vehicle and Equipment lists Work with the Business applications team for As-Maintained BOM structure clean-up activities in SAP and to resolve issues resulting in data inaccuracies.
• Configuration management support in SAP for Base Operations ahead of company milestones Identify and lead SAP product improvement and automation initiatives by collaborating with the Business Applications team Evaluation of SAP user experience for the current system, identify and lead improvement initiatives Be the go-to expert for the SAP system, provide maintenance and troubleshooting for any problems when they arise Work with the internal training team to build out module-specific training targeted toward various BaseOps SAP users General System Administration / Hardware/Software Infrastructure support:
• Provide general IT application support for vital Base Operations systems and infrastructure, interfacing with our Corporate IT teams and advocating the needs of our department Drive IT infrastructure and application improvement projects based on learning from data analytics and feedback from our customers Provide development, maintenance, and operational support for our Technical Publications / service manual authoring application, release software, and customer website Improve the current documentation review process by working in coordination with the BaseOps documentation team
• Support the development and usage of data analytics tools/dashboards to help improve the operational efficiency of the BaseOps team and our autonomous fleet Lead data auditing and compliance to ensure better data accuracy and governance across operationsWork with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements

Required skills

Qualifications: BS in Information Technology or equivalent engineering degree 6-8 years of experience in a similar System Operation Support role Prior experience hands-on experience with SAP S4 system Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Strongly self-motivated and detail oriented and has the ability to prioritize daily workload and other assignments Experience with UI development/maintenance including UX studies Coding experience - HTML, CSS, and JavaScript General IT system awareness Bonus Qualifications: Working knowledge of SAP ME/Mii systems Experience with Jira / Confluence or similar ticketing and wiki services Experience with Web development tools like Oxygen and setting up related data analytics Experience with developing dashboards and data analytics tools Prior systems support of production environment and vehicle fleets

company is developing autonomous driving from the ground up, including creating a unique vehicle tailored to autonomous driving. This position is to provide various aspects of technical content and support, with a key focus on improving operational efficiencies and resolving operation/production related system issues, mainly for the company's BaseOps Team, but also will support General Assembly Team operations when requested.
