divh2Water Fitness Instructor/h2pUnder direct supervision of the Aquatics Director, the Water Fitness Instructor provides water aerobics instruction, monitors, educates patrons on fitness and safety, and maintains a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for class participants./ppResponsibilities include:/pulliTeaches scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate warm-up, exercise, stretching, and cool down./liliInstructs patrons on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises; identifies different muscle groups, and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles./liliPrepares appropriate equipment, music, and handouts for each class. Removal and replacement of lane lines required for class space./liliAssists patrons, answers questions, and maintains a positive exercise experience for members and class participants./liliKeeps management informed of pool activities, facility needs, and significant problems./liliEnsures that safety standards are met, and that department and facility policies are adhered to./liliPerforms related duties as required./li/ulpMinimum qualifications:/pulliCertified Instructor (AEA, ACE, AFAA), water specialty/certification preferred./liliWorking knowledge of human anatomy, Kinesiology and training principles./liliKnowledge of water aerobics teaching strategies and the incorporation of music, tempo, cueing technique, and rhythm./liliChoreography and music skills./liliAbility to be professional and motivate class participants./liliAbility to cooperate and work well with other staff members./liliCurrent Red Cross Lifeguard certification, CPR/First Aid, preferred/li/ulpPhysical demands for either position: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
