About the Role:

The Art Handler plays a crucial role in safely and efficiently transporting, transporting, and installing artworks and artifacts within our organization. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of various art forms, ensuring that each piece is treated with the utmost care and respect. The Art Handler will collaborate closely with curators, conservators, and other team members to facilitate exhibitions and installations, contributing to the overall success of our artistic endeavors. Additionally, this role involves maintaining inventory records and ensuring that all artworks are stored and displayed in optimal conditions. Ultimately, the Art Handler is essential in preserving the integrity of our collection and enhancing the visitor experience through expertly managed art logistics.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in art handling, museum, or gallery settings.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art History, or a related field.
  • Experience with art conservation techniques and materials.

Responsibilities:
  • Safely pack, unpack, and transport artworks and artifacts to and from exhibitions, storage, and other locations.
  • Assist in installing and dismantling exhibitions, ensuring that all pieces are displayed according to the curator's specifications.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and condition reports for all artworks handled.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement best art handling and storage practices.
  • Regular inspections of storage and display areas are conducted to ensure optimal environmental conditions for artworks.
