Pay

Base pay range: $19.23/hr – $52.88/hr

Compensation

Starting / Initial Base Salary: $19.23–$43.26 per hour (or $40,000–$90,000 per year).

Commission:

  • 50% – 150% of one month's MRCs (monthly recurring charges)
  • 1/12 of one‑time NRCs (non‑recurring charges)
  • 1/24 of burst fees

Tenured Base Salary: $19.23–$52.88 per hour (or $40,000–$110,000 per year) based on structured tenure‑based and performance‑based pay increases. Specific offers are determined by experience, education, skills, certifications and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed regional sales territory via sourcing and hunting, targeting IP Transit, content creators/hosters, carriers/wholesalers, and net‑centric companies.
  • Directly contact potential clients by phone, email, and other outreach to qualify and generate new business, working closely with key decision makers.
  • Complement prospecting and selling efforts through onsite customer meetings as needed.
  • Use consultative and relationship‑building selling techniques to identify current and future connectivity solutions.
  • Position Cogent services for new business by leveraging the global network footprint, including commercial and retail buildings, carrier‑neutral hotels, data centers, and colocation facilities.

Qualifications

  • 3–8 + years of solid B2B sales experience in a telecom arena with colocations, wholesale experience, and data transit/transport.
  • Proven track record in a direct hunting, B2B sales role with quota achievement.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify, and generate new business through extensive prospecting and research.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team environment with revenue deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office and a CRM is a plus.
  • A college degree is preferred but not required.

Work Environment

This is an in‑office position five days a week to best support your success, allowing for focused mentorship, training, and personal coaching.
