Description:

Title: Growth Data Science Analyst

Job Type: Contract

Contract Length: 5 months

Target Start Date: ASAP

Work Location/Structure: Hybrid in the SF office (Onsite Tuesday/Wednesday required)

About the Opportunity: Our client, a leader in the Software as a Service (SaaS) industry, is looking for a skilled Growth Data Science Analyst to join their Growth Analytics team for a 5-month engagement. This role is essential for extracting meaningful business insights from large, complex datasets, focusing on SQL, dashboard creation, experimentation, and partnering with key stakeholders—rather than predictive modeling. This is a high-impact role that requires a self‑motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

  • In-depth Analysis: Conduct analysis on large, complex datasets to extract meaningful business insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Data Visualization: Design and build intuitive, high‑impact dashboards and data visualizations that drive data‑informed decisions.
  • Strategic Insights: Deliver insights that help stakeholders answer key questions related to Payments, Retention, and Expansion initiatives.
  • Optimization and Experimentation: Measure, benchmark, and optimize programs aimed at improving product adoption, engagement, expansion, and customer retention, including A/B testing analysis.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Partner effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders to translate corporate strategy and milestones into actionable analytics.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in data analytics, consulting, or a similar quantitative role.
  • Deep expertise in advanced SQL, including building complex queries across multiple schemas (3+ years experience). This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
  • 2+ years of experience creating dashboards in a major visualization tool such as Tableau or Qlik.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Finance, Math, CS, or related).
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with one or more programming languages (R, Python, Scala/Spark, Perl, etc.).
  • Experience designing experiments and analyzing A/B test results.
  • Prior experience in a B2B environment.
