Staff Accountant – Atlassian

We have an opportunity for an entry level Accountant to join the global general ledger team at Atlassian. The role reports to the Accounting Manager and involves maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial information across our global entities, ensuring compliance with policies, collaborating across teams, and participating in innovation projects to build a world‑class finance organization.

Responsibilities

• Support month‑end close processes, including preparation of journal entries such as accruals, cash activity, and allocations.
• Conduct or assist with account analysis and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting policies.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Sales, Operations, HR, FP&A) to support accurate financial reporting and ensure key transactions are accounted for.
• Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to improve efficiency in corporate accounting activities.
• Contribute to special projects as needed, such as accounting system upgrades, data validation, and reporting optimization.
• Participate in global standardization efforts for policies and procedures.
• Additional duties and projects as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related major from a four‑year institution. CPA certification is preferred.
• 1–2 years of professional experience in Accounting or Finance.Experience working in a fast‑growing environment, preferably in a public company.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to develop, organize, and complete projects.
• Good understanding of US GAAP and Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX).
• Strong technical skills including proficiency in Oracle Cloud, SAP, BlackLine, and Excel.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills to liaise with various teams.

Compensation

Base pay ranges by geographic zone (US):
• Zone A: $76,500 – $99,875
• Zone B: $69,300 – $90,475
• Zone C: $63,900 – $83,425
