Accounting Clerk Opportunity

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Lafayette, California. This is a contract-to-permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing general contractor while developing your skills in accounting and office administration. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational abilities, a knack for accuracy, and a willingness to expand their expertise in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Process and record Accounts Payable invoices efficiently using Sage 100 software.
• Perform data entry tasks for accounting and payroll operations, with training provided for full-cycle payroll management.
• Assist in job costing and progress billing, with training available as needed.
• Manage and track insurance certificates, lien waivers, and preliminary lien documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Maintain organized records for the company's vehicle fleet and coordinate with field staff as required.
• Oversee subcontractor documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide support for general office management duties and take on more responsibilities as the role evolves.
• Collaborate with team members to streamline administrative and accounting processes.
• Contribute to maintaining a productive and organized work environment.
• Adapt to new challenges and learn additional processes as the company grows.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of experience in accounting and office administration.
• Proficiency in Sage 100 software is mandatory.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong ability to learn new processes and adapt to training.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
• Knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Experience in invoice processing and data entry.
• Familiarity with managing insurance or lien-related documentation is a plus.
