JOIN OUR MEDA TEAM
Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting economic development and job creation in San Francisco's Mission District. Founded in 1973, MEDA has a long history of serving the community by providing access to capital, technical assistance, and training programs for entrepreneurs and small businesses. We also partner with individuals and families to build lasting prosperity through housing stabilization, small business support, workforce development, financial coaching, and education support. Rooted in San Francisco's Mission District, we've seen how economic opportunity transforms lives-and we're expanding that impact to communities nationwide.
YOUR CAREER OPPORTUNITY
In 2022, MEDA launched the Housing Stabilization & Eviction Defense (HSED) program to provide culturally competent, bilingual legal services that prevent displacement and promote housing stability. As part of our effort to strengthen client access and streamline services, MEDA is seeking an Intake Specialist to join our HSED team.
This new position is a key front-line role responsible for improving how MEDA connects with community members and triages them to the right programs and services. Working alongside Promotoras at MEDA's Front Desk, the Intake Specialist will ensure that every existing and potential client walking into MEDA receives a comprehensive and consistent intake experience to then efficiently refer inquiries to HSED counsel and other MEDA-relevant personnel. The Specialist will help identify client needs, determine eligibility for MEDA support services, support Promotoras in conducting thorough screenings, and ensure that data is accurately collected and recorded in MEDA's systems.
The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, deeply familiar with San Francisco's housing and social service landscape, and passionate about helping families access critical resources to remain stable and thrive in their community.
