About the Team

The Stripe Accounting Team supports all products at Stripe, consulting on accounting implications, and enabling teams to make informed strategic decisions. We are responsible for the accurate and timely recording of all business‑generated transactions on our balance sheet and income statement, and we collaborate with cross‑functional and international teams in a fast‑paced environment.

What you'll do

Stripe is seeking an experienced leader to oversee all cryptocurrency product offerings—Bridge and Privy products—supporting fast growth and scaling these products. The Accounting team is responsible for all aspects of financial, statutory, and internal reporting processes, financial systems, internal controls, and business support. You will leverage your technical expertise to identify accounting implications, advise cross‑functionally, and develop operational processes that scale.

Responsibilities

  • Accounting operations for all stablecoin products, including Bridge and Privy accounting.
  • Drive monthly and quarterly close activities, analytical reviews, and financial reporting deliverables.
  • Lead cross‑functional initiatives and communicate progress effectively with senior management.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement scalable accounting processes and automation improvements to support global growth.
  • Partner closely with business and finance teams to understand new products, features, contracts, and advise on accounting implications.
  • Research, prepare, and review technical accounting analyses.
  • Collaborate with Internal Systems and Engineering to support internal financial systems and automation of accounting processes.
  • Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and design new processes and controls for emerging and growing activities.
  • Develop and maintain up‑to‑date accounting policies and procedures.
  • Understand data and system flows, analyze financial results, and identify and resolve financial anomalies.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant public accounting and/or industry experience.
  • Significant experience accounting for cryptocurrencies, including stablecoins.
  • B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred).
  • Fluency in U.S. GAAP and ability to research complex accounting issues.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with large data sets.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Experience with internal controls (design, implementation, and execution).
  • Solution‑oriented mindset with enthusiasm for establishing best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or similar qualification.
  • Experience at a public company.
  • Payments or Tech industry experience.
  • Cryptocurrency experience.
  • Banking experience.
  • SQL experience.

Hybrid work at Stripe

This role is available either in an office or a remote location (35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office). Office‑assigned Stripes are expected to spend at least 50% of their time in a local office or with users; remote employees are expected to work from home regularly and are not covered for relocation costs.

Pay and benefits

The annual U.S. base salary range for this role is $167,200 – $250,800. Additional benefits include equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision benefits, and wellness stipends.
