Project Architect

Description:

NBBJ's California studio is seeking a Project Architect with experience in the design, documentation and planning of complex projects at various scales including large-scale hospitals and ambulatory care centers. This is an opportunity to join a fully integrated design studio where a diverse group of technical architects, interior designers, medical planners collaborate as a team from concept design through construction.

This role can be based in our San Francisco, Los Angeles or San Diego office.

Responsibilities

  • Support the technical design and documentation of projects at various scales, focusing on healthcare environments, from large hospitals to complex department renovations
  • Develop and finalize documents to ensure compliance with building codes, life safety standards, FGI guidelines, with a focus on technical accuracy and regulatory adherence
  • Coordinate with interior, MEP, and structural disciplines throughout the design and documentation phases
  • Lead small teams on a variety of project scales
  • Collaborate with Architects, Interior Designers, and Project Managers from Concept Design through Construction Administration

Qualifications

  • 8-12 years of experience in architectural design and documentation, preferably in complex healthcare or institutional projects. Demonstrated excellence in design and innovation
  • Experience in projects from design development through construction administration.
  • Strong verbal and graphic communication skills, effective client relationship skills, and talent for working with diverse teams of designers and consultants in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience with interior documentation and detailing, including casework detailing.
  • Demonstrated experience working on HCAI 1/OSHPD 1 projects in California
  • Professional Licensure or progress toward licensure is encouraged. LEED Accreditation, encouraged
  • Familiarity with LEAN Concepts, encouraged

This role requires the individual to be based in the United States.

Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience. The annual base pay range for this role is anticipated to be between:
