Medical Front Office - Patient Service Specialist

Job Description

When patients enter our center, we want them to have an exceptional experience – starting at the front desk. As a patient service specialist, you'll manage both the patient side and the business side of our center. You'll be the patient advocate, communicate via email and phone, manage patient payments and utilize multiple computer programs.

• Center Location: 3222 Geary Blvd, San Francisco, CA 94118
• Type of Employment: Full Time
• Hours: Weekdays, FLEXIBLE
• Compensation: $21.00 – $23.00/hour (based on experience)

Core Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients, provide visit expectations and next appointment information during check‑out.
• Schedule patient appointments in person and by phone.
• Regularly communicate with attorneys, insurance companies, translation firms, and internal leaders.
• Collect co‑pays, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year of front‑desk experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish speaking)
• Insurance verification experience

Physical Requirements

• Walk, stand, bend, and reach consistently during a work shift.
• Typing using the 10‑key during a work shift.
• Lifts up to 25 lbs safely from ground to waist using proper body mechanics.
• Carries office supplies up to 10 lbs.
• Is able to maintain visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient for accurate records and recognizing people.
• Is able to speak and hear sufficient to understand and give directions.
