Description:

The Transport Driver / Housemen Set-Up / Banquet Server plays a key role in ensuring seamless event execution across multiple venues within the Presidio, including the Golden Gate Club, Officers' Club, and Log Cabin. This hybrid position includes responsibilities in transportation, event setup and breakdown, equipment management, and banquet service. The ideal candidate is highly organized, physically capable, and an excellent communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport and deliver food in hotboxes from the Golden Gate Club kitchen to the Officers' Club and Log Cabin event venues.
  • Review and interpret Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to accurately execute deliveries in alignment with event timelines.
  • Deliver and retrieve equipment before, during, and after events as directed by the Banquet Captain.
  • Break down ceremony sites accommodating up to 200 guests.
  • Set up and break down event spaces according to weekly event requirements.
  • Work alongside the housemen crew during setup days to prepare event spaces.
  • Maintain and organize storage rooms to ensure easy access and efficient workflow.
  • Cross-train and serve as a banquet server to support event service when needed.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, event coordinators, and banquet captains to ensure smooth operations.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and extended periods of standing or walking.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and understand BEOs and follow detailed instructions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent time management and reliability.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
  • Previous event, banquet, or hospitality experience is a plus (but not required).
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred.

The important extras:
  • As is typical in the hospitality industry, this position requires regular availability to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, as well as shifts of more than 8 hours and workweeks of more than 40 hours.
