About the Role

We are seeking an energetic and self‑motivated Senior Sales Tax Analyst to join our Indirect Tax Department. This position reports to the Tax Director, Sales, Use & VAT, and supports a wide range of sales and use tax compliance, audit, and special project activities across the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia.

The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with sales and use tax audits, compliance, and research, and a working knowledge of Oracle, Vertex, MicroStrategy, Microsoft Excel, Word, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

Audit Support

  • Prepare and provide auditors with supporting documentation using various internal systems.
  • Review auditors' workpapers, analyze findings, and prepare audit defense responses.
  • Analyze, extrapolate, and evaluate audit exposure to identify risk and mitigation opportunities.

Tax Compliance

  • Support the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns and related schedules.
  • Partner with outside consultants on projects, tax filings, and data requests.
  • Research and respond to internal and external inquiries regarding tax rates, product classification, and exemption documentation.
  • Maintain compliance calendars to ensure timely filings and remittances.

Other / Special Projects

  • Manage and assist with indirect tax related and cross‑functional projects, including data analytics and system enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and IT to ensure accuracy and integrity of transactional tax data.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate tax or finance, with a focus on sales and use tax.
  • Experience interacting with auditors, audit defense, and tax appeals.
  • Strong knowledge of Vertex or similar tax automation systems, and proficiency with Oracle, MicroStrategy, Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High energy and motivation, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Independent thinker and self‑starter with sound judgment.
  • Prior experience in the retail industry is a plus but not mandatory.

The expected starting pay range for this position is $86,400 – $101,500. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job‑related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
