Stott & May is representing an Artificial Intelligence (Legal) Startup in the Bay Area

We are seeking a talented and experienced attorney with a proven track record in private practice across Restructuring, Capital Markets, or Corporate M&A, who has a serious passion for artificial intelligence.

You will be taking a lead role working hand-in-hand with OpenAI / Palantir calibre AI/ML Researchers to develop purpose-built features and products from the ground up, whilst also using these products to work with and advise some of the World's best-known private equity funds and hedge funds on major transactions.

The Role

Sitting at the intersection of law and technology. This is perfect for high-performing attorneys eager to apply their legal knowledge in a practical role that is closer to the technology, without the need to step into a 'legal engineer' role which would take you away from practicing the law.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Work directly with AI/ML Researchers and Engineers to design new technologies to change the way law is practiced
• Deliver direct and honest practitioner feedback on 'what lawyers need'
• Take a major role and have a serious say in the hiring of future lawyers as we grow
• Engaging in strategic initiatives to elevate our brand, crafting metrics-driven content that reinforces our mission and impact

You'll be a great fit if:

• A J.D. from a top 25 law school and 7-15 years of experience practicing the law in one of the following areas: Restructuring, Capital Markets, or Corporate M&A
• The desire to really contribute to the next generation of technology, but still practice the law
• A tinkerer at heart, you have often played around with workflows, tech, or anything to make life more 'efficient.'
• You value a positive working environment - no need to 'become part of the family', but you want to build good relationships with those you work with....

Preferred:

• A formal technical background would be helpful, but it is not needed to knock this out of the park
