San Bruno Park is a linguistically and culturally diverse school district in the San Francisco Bay Area. The district serves preschool to grade 8 with four elementary schools and one middle school. The district is actively investing in its facilities and staff, with recent initiatives to attract and retain talented educators.
Under the general supervision of the Director of Child Development, the Preschool Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director in overseeing the day-to-day operations and educational programming of the San Bruno Park Preschool Program. Core responsibilities include supporting classroom coverage and scheduling, supervising teaching and support staff, ensuring the effective implementation of curriculum and educational philosophy, and helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and enriching learning environment. The Program Coordinator also supports the coordination of volunteers, consultants, and coaches; assists with facility oversight to ensure safe and high-quality learning environments; and helps with emergency preparedness and safety planning. This position plays a key role in hiring, training, mentoring, and evaluating teaching staff, as well as cultivating strong relationships with children, families, and the community. Additional responsibilities include managing administrative tasks, supporting compliance with applicable regulations, planning program events, and assisting the Director in aligning the preschool program with broader educational goals across San Mateo County. The Program Coordinator works under limited supervision and serves as the Director's proxy when the Director is offsite, including acting as a liaison with Community Care Licensing (CCL) and the San Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE). Evening and weekend work is occasionally required for training, school events, and family engagement activities.
