Hotel Manager
OTO Development is seeking a dedicated Hotel Manager to join our property team in San Francisco, CA. The role offers a competitive annual compensation range of $100,000 to $105,000, plus quarterly bonuses.
What you will be doing most days:
- Lead the property in revenue generation through sales and marketing efforts.
- Maintain strong knowledge of and relationships in the local market.
- Manage relationships with hotel vendors and negotiate service agreements.
- Review financial reports and statements to assess performance versus budget and identify improvement strategies.
- Coach and support the hotel team to manage occupancy, rates, wages, and controllable expenses while achieving financial goals and superior guest and team satisfaction.
- Manage costs within the hotel, including supplies, labor, utilities, food, and beverage expenses, keeping them within budgeted parameters.
- Ensure ongoing training and development of service, technical skills, and other competencies across the property.
- Build and maintain open, collaborative relationships with direct reports and the entire team.
- Lead by example, maintaining an open-door policy and soliciting feedback actively.
- Recruit team members who demonstrate strong functional expertise, creativity, and leadership.
- Observe service behaviors of team members and provide constructive feedback.
- Review comment cards, guest survey results, and other data to identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze service issues, identify trends, and develop creative solutions to overcome obstacles.
- Interact with customers regularly to obtain feedback on product quality, service levels, and overall satisfaction.
- Ensure the building is well maintained and operational areas meet or exceed guest expectations.
- Administer policies fairly and consistently, evaluating and recognizing employee performance appropriately.
- Ensure the property meets franchise standards and operates as a safe and secure facility for guests and team members.
Requirements for this position:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive hotel management experience.
- Proven success in leadership of teams and guest service results.
- Financial acumen to understand and utilize financial information and data.
- Bachelor's degree or extensive relevant work experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and effective listening skills.
- Prior leadership of direct sales efforts, producing at least 50% market mix of total revenues.
- Valid driver's license from the appropriate state.
- Exceptional time management and multitasking skills.
- Customer focus, consistently striving to deliver optimal employee and customer satisfaction for the hotel.
Physical Requirements: This is a physically demanding position. You must be comfortable standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting, and squatting for extended periods of time.
Travel Requirements: The position may require occasional travel.
Pay Scale: $31.30 – $39.90 per hour (a secondary component for certain roles).
