Job Summary

The Research Assistant will provide research and administrative support to the principal investigator(s) (PI) of the assigned project(s). The incumbent will assist the PI in meeting the objectives of a HRSA‑funded curricular development grant within the Division of General Internal Medicine, including data collection through review and analysis of qualitative and quantitative educational data, creating educational materials and presentations, assistance with writing study reports and IRB applications, and assistance in preparing scholarly articles and presentations. The incumbent will help manage applications for new funding opportunities. The incumbent will also provide administrative support to the PI, including scheduling, processing reimbursements and assisting with submitting manuscripts for publication.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating on design, documentation, and implementation of curricular innovations and program evaluation
  • Collecting data via surveys, focus groups, and interviews
  • Conducting literature reviews and systematic reviews
  • Developing and maintaining research gathering, retrieval and reporting systems
  • Cleaning, managing, and analyzing data
  • Conducting statistical studies in support of research proposals and protocols
  • Coordinating research/program team meetings, taking notes, managing project timelines, and ensuring follow‑up of deliverables
  • Preparing and submitting scientific manuscripts
  • Developing scientific presentations in partnership with the PI
  • Applying principles in stakeholder engagement for large‑funded projects and grant applications
  • Managing project budgets for participant compensation, reimbursement, and other study supplies

Administrative Operations

  • Assist with scheduling meetings with the PI, study team, collaborators, and research participants
  • Drafting and editing correspondence
  • Attending study‑related meetings, keeping minutes, and performing other duties as assigned
  • Developing policies and procedures to ensure that the team's operations run smoothly and efficiently
  • Assisting in supervising and coaching early‑career employees to support research activities and study coordination

Flexibility and willingness to adapt to the evolving needs of the program are essential for success in this position.

Salary Range – $69,000 – $100,200 (Annual Rate)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, psychology, sociology, epidemiology or related area; and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • 1+ years related experience.
  • Fluent in verbal and written Spanish; able to interview research participants in Spanish, transcribe responses in Spanish and communicate with research participants in Spanish.
  • Advanced academic writing and editing skills.
  • Knowledge of design software (i.e. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator; Power Point; etc.).
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis software (i.e. Stata; SPSS; R; etc.).
  • Ability to work with electronic data collection tools (i.e. REDcap; Qualtrics; Dedoose).
  • Well‑developed organizational and documentation skills; ability to attend to details.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills; excellent organizational skills; and excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work effectively in team‑based environment; ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • College coursework in public health, psychology, or related field.
  • Master's degree in public health, psychology, or related field.
  • CITI Program – Human Subjects Research.
