Base pay range

$140,000.00/yr - $190,000.00/yr

A growing high-technology organization in the vacuum electronics space is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a talented, multidisciplinary engineering team focused on developing advanced vacuum electronic devices and next-generation systems.

This is a hands‑on leadership role that combines technical depth with team mentorship, innovation strategy, and cross‑functional collaboration. The successful candidate will guide complex R&D and product development initiatives serving critical applications across defense, aerospace, medical, and scientific markets.

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers and technicians responsible for the design, development, and optimization of vacuum tubes, electron guns, RF circuits, and high‑voltage subsystems.
  • Drive innovation and excellence in next‑generation vacuum electronics and related technologies.
  • Manage technical projects from concept through production, ensuring on‑time delivery and performance compliance.
  • Oversee staffing, resource planning, and long‑term capability development within the engineering organization.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with operations, manufacturing, and quality to ensure smooth product integration.
  • Support proposal efforts, cost estimates, and technical input for new business and R&D programs.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, technical rigor, and continuous improvement across the engineering function.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong background in vacuum systems, electron optics, or high‑voltage electronics.
  • Proven ability to mentor, motivate, and grow technical talent.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to balance technical and programmatic priorities.
  • U.S. Citizenship required (ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance).

You'll Stand Out If You Have

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Engineering or Physics.
  • 10+ years of experience in vacuum electronics or related advanced technology development.
  • Demonstrated success leading R&D programs through production transition.
  • Experience in cost estimation, proposal support, and long‑term engineering strategy.

Note: Due to the nature of this work, this position requires eligibility under U.S. export control regulations (ITAR/EAR).
