Senior Recruitment Consultant at Alexander Chapman

Our client is an innovative company in the wearable health technology sector, developing next‑generation connected devices that bridge advanced electronics with intuitive design. The team focuses on creating reliable, user‑centric hardware that improves quality of life through cutting‑edge engineering and seamless system integration.

Position Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team working on state‑of‑the‑art wearable products. The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on experience in PCB design, prototyping, and validation, with a strong understanding of mixed‑signal systems and low‑power embedded hardware. You'll play a key role in the full hardware development cycle, from concept to production, ensuring performance, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own schematic capture, multilayer PCB layout, component selection, and BOM generation.
  • Design and support rigid, flex, and rigid‑flex PCBs for compact wearable form factors.
  • Collaborate with firmware and mechanical engineering teams to ensure smooth hardware–system integration.
  • Interface with manufacturing partners for DFM/DFT reviews and oversee PCBA bring‑up.
  • Conduct bench‑level debugging, testing, and validation using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power profilers, and similar lab tools.
  • Ensure designs meet electrical, functional, and mechanical specifications as well as relevant EMC, safety, and energy regulations.
  • Contribute to design documentation, test plans, and continuous improvement of hardware development processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of hands‑on experience in hardware design, signal integrity, and circuit analysis.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer or equivalent EDA tools.
  • Solid understanding of PCB stack‑up, layout constraints, and component library management.
  • Demonstrated experience in hardware bring‑up, validation, and debugging.
  • Familiarity with low‑power design, BLE communication, and mixed‑signal circuits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with STM32 or Nordic low‑power MCUs.
  • Understanding of regulatory standards (IEC 60601, ISO 13485, FCC, FDA, etc.).
  • Knowledge of power management, battery systems, and wireless charging solutions.
