Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
We are seeking an expert IT Support Specialist who can handle the most complex technical challenges while working as a core member of our Helpdesk team. This role requires deep technical expertise to support some of the world's leading AI researchers and engineers. You'll tackle intricate troubleshooting scenarios daily while identifying systemic issues and implementing strategic solutions.
This is not a typical help desk position. While you'll be an active member of the support team handling tickets daily, you'll also be the strategic thinker who asks "why does this ticket exist?" and then does something about it. You'll have the autonomy to design and implement solutions that make entire categories of problems disappear. If you're someone who can expertly troubleshoot an issue while simultaneously designing the system that prevents it from happening again, this role is for you.
We expect staff in this role to be based out of the SF Bay Area and be willing to work onsite in our SF office 4‑5 days/week.
The expected base compensation for this position is $160,000—$265,000 USD. Our total compensation package for full‑time employees includes equity, benefits, and may include incentive compensation.
Education requirements: We require at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Location‑based hybrid policy: We expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. Some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship: We sponsor visas. However, we may not be able to sponsor every role and every candidate. If we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa.
Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We believe AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications and strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.
We believe that the highest‑impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large‑scale research efforts. We value impact—advancing our long‑term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI—rather than working on smaller, specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science that shares commonalities with physics and biology. We are an extremely collaborative group, hosting frequent research discussions to ensure we pursue the highest‑impact work at any time, and we greatly value communication skills.
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco.
