Qualifications

  • JD degree from an accredited law school and active California bar membership in good standing
  • Minimum of 2 years of substantive employment litigation experience
  • Experience taking and defending depositions and managing discovery
  • Law and motion knowledge, including experience arguing motions
  • Working knowledge of California Civil Procedure and Federal Rules of Court
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience developing and sustaining client relationships
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team‑oriented environment
  • Commitment to representing employees and protecting their rights

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategy and actively manage a caseload
  • Collaborate with co‑counsel and opposing counsel
  • Independently draft complaints, discovery, and motions
  • Communicate with clients and witnesses
  • Conduct discovery, including taking and defending depositions
  • Independently attend court hearings
  • Draft and argue motions, including motions for class certification
  • Work with expert witnesses, particularly in financial and statistical fields
  • Work on and assist in trial preparations
  • Manage settlement negotiations and participate in mediation
  • Take cases to trial and arbitration, if necessary
