Banking Services Lead

Mechanics Bank is currently searching for a Banking Services Lead to join our team at our Kensington Branch. Under general supervision, independently and accurately perform the full range of teller, new account, and maintenance transactions according to established procedures. Deliver excellent customer service. Works closely with the sales team to achieve performance goals and meet the financial needs of our customers through ethical referrals. Supports the Retail Banking Services Officer and executes on the operational tasks and reporting for the branch. Acts as a subject matter expert on operational policies and procedures in the absence of the Retail Branch Services Officer or Retail Banking Services Officer. Maintains knowledge of compliance and regulatory items. Uses sound judgement and balances service and risk when assisting with transactional approvals. Provides dual control support while adhering to bank policies and procedure.

What you will do:

• Perform routine teller transactions and work directly with customers. Accept, verify, and process basic to more complex customer transactions according to established procedures and security guidelines. Transactions include deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, payments, transfers, and transactions received through the mail or the night drop. Adhere to all cash handling policies and procedures balancing cash at the end of each shift. Responsible for maintaining and balancing a cash supply for transactions performed.
• Assist the Retail Operations Manager in the branch to ensure operational soundness. Assist with monitoring overall branch cash levels. The completion and review of Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, and Annual operational tasks. May lead and direct the activities of Customer Service Representatives and Universal Bankers in the office. May assist with setting and implementing operations priorities and processes for the office.
• Lead branch in providing extraordinary service to customers. Assist customers with account maintenance, online banking, mobile banking, and other complex account issues. Work to resolve concerns presented by customers.
• Review customer transactions for red flags and fraudulent items. Maintain awareness of current financial scams used against banking customers. Prevent customers from becoming victims of fraud and escalate concerns to management for resolution.
• Represent the Bank and its products and services with pride and enthusiasm. Responsive to customer needs. Identify and present new or additional products and services. Maintain superior levels of customer service.
• Maintain compliance with established internal operational standards and Federal and State regulations to protect the interest of the Bank and customers. Gather data and process various regulatory and operational reports to ensure compliance with Bank policies and procedures, Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering and regulatory compliance programs reviews the work of others for compliance.

Who you are:

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Notary license preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of banking operations experience required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as a team member.
• Ability to make decisions and review and approve other employee decisions.
• Excellent time management skills, organizational ability, and attention to detail.
• Extensive knowledge of Bank deposit products and services.
• Extensive knowledge of alternative Bank services and products and vendor provided products.
• Knowledge of applicable Federal and State banking regulations.
• Knowledge of Retail office operations, including complex transactions, Bank policy and procedures.

Pay Range: $22.00 - $30.00 hourly

Final compensation package will be determined by the work experience, education, and/or skill level of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.
