Job Description

Territory Business Manager (TBM) is responsible for selling Alkermes products in the Santa Clara territory and supporting promotional efforts. Ideal candidates should be proven sales achievers and live in the territory. Success requires thorough product, disease‑state, and market knowledge along with sound selling skills. The TBM will help educate healthcare providers, use available resources, and analyze data to set appropriate sales targets.

Responsibilities

  • The TBM will demonstrate a deep understanding of all Alkermes products, related disease states, and market competitors.
  • Use approved sales aids, studies, and reprints to communicate effectively and build relationships with healthcare providers.
  • Identify and regularly call targeted healthcare providers to support proper use of Alkermes products, maintaining updated target lists.
  • Utilize all resources and programs (samples, speaker programs, etc.) to grow business and discuss territory strategy with the District Business Leader.
  • Develop business plans as required by the DBL and complete administrative tasks accurately and timely.
  • Manage operational expenses (car, gas, office supplies, telephone, lodging, meals, entertainment) within budget.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in related positions—including other representatives, DBL, RMDs, Marketing, and HQ personnel.
  • Abide by all Alkermes policies and regulations, including promotional compliance and sample accountability.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS required.
  • Minimum 2 years of successful pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience.
  • Must live within the assigned territory.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Credentialing as required for healthcare provider access.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of successful pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience.
  • Specialty sales experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Demonstrated past sales success.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and influencing skills.
  • Occasional overnight travel possible.

Compensation

The annual base salary ranges from $125,000 to $155,000. In addition, this position offers a performance‑based incentive bonus of up to $45,000 annually and eligibility for the company's long‑term incentive program. Compensation varies with experience and performance.
