Senior Project Director

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary interface with owner and contractor.
  • Overall supervision of multiple projects or single highly complicated projects, or manage a group or department.
  • Participate meaningfully and for an extended period in corporate and strategic initiatives.
  • Act as a recognized leader and resource across the company (subject‑matter expert).
  • Aid in business development: lead pursuits, RFQ/RFPs, client relations, and ensure proposals align with pursuit strategies.
  • Accountable for profits and losses and deliver projects on time.
  • Lead pre‑construction efforts on designated projects.
  • Build a positive personal brand inside and outside of the company.
  • Identify, recruit, develop, and mentor team members.
  • Conduct resource planning across multiple projects.
  • Enforce safety on the job site and effectively manage the company's safety policies and procedures.
  • Identify, manage, and strategically mitigate risk.
  • Train, mentor, and develop direct reports and staff.

Technical Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Proven track record as a Project Director on multiple or significant scopes on mega projects from pursuit to close‑out.
  • Demonstrated leadership in interacting with owners, architects, subcontractors, and peers.
  • Ability to identify, manage, and mitigate risk.
  • Fully capable of leveraging insurance and rates strategically.
  • Ability to conduct resource planning across multiple projects.
  • Ability to lead a pre‑construction effort independently, including client management and resource management.

Required Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Typically, 18 years of diversified construction experience, including at least three years as a Project Director.
  • Self‑perform experience preferred.
