The Role: Your challenge …in our journey
We're looking for a passionate and curious Vice President, Business Development to join our team. In this role you'll drive impactful projects, collaborate, and explore uncharted territories. As a senior leader you will focus on driving sales growth, oversee a regional team, manage sales processes, build client relationships, collaborate internally, and adapt strategies to meet market needs.
What You'll Do
- Strategic Sales Oversight: Develop and implement a regional sales strategy aligned with global commercial goals, refine sales territories and account assignments.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, executive‑level relationships with key clients, acting as trusted advisor.
- Sales & Revenue Growth: Accelerate top‑line growth by achieving regional sales targets, supporting the team in identifying new opportunities, safeguarding profit margins, and reporting KPIs.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales leaders, marketing, commercial strategy, and operations.
- Brand Ambassadorship: Represent Evotec at industry events, trade shows, key client meetings.
- Team Leadership & Development: Hire, mentor, train, and motivate sales teams to achieve targets.
Who You Are
- Deep understanding of drug discovery and development across modalities.
- Self‑starter with proven record of exceeding sales targets.
- Established network in West Coast ecosystem across pharma, biotech, and venture capitalists.
- Strong leader with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Comfortable traveling extensively across the region.
Education and Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, or related field.
- Minimum 10+ years of sales leadership experience in the CRO or life sciences industry.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $202,000 to $232,200; base salary may vary by skills, experience and market value. Additional total rewards include discretionary annual bonus, comprehensive benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, disability, life insurance, 401(k) match), flexible work, generous paid time off, wellness and transportation benefits.
