About The Team

The Corporate Development and Investor Relations team is the company's strategic brain trust, driving financial strategy, growth, and high‑impact decisions. We work at the intersection of strategy, finance and execution, partnering cross‑functionally to unlock new opportunities and execute complex transactions—from fundraising and M&A to strategic finance initiatives—shaping Airwallex's future.

What You'll Do

We are looking for a Director, Corporate Development & Investor Relations to join our high‑caliber team and help drive strategic growth and investor engagement globally. This role involves shaping our corporate development strategy, building strong investor relationships, and influencing major M&A decisions to drive long‑term value.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine global corporate development strategy aligned with the company's long‑term vision.
  • Identify, assess, and cultivate a pipeline of actionable M&A opportunities—tuck‑in acquisitions and larger transformational deals.
  • Evaluate potential acquisition targets for strategic and financial fit, leveraging analysis and cross‑functional input.
  • Drive execution of live M&A transactions, including operating and financial models, due diligence, and cross‑team coordination.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance and the CEO's Office to ensure seamless post‑acquisition integration of acquired entities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with venture, growth and public equity investors.
  • Work with Finance and Data Science teams to develop key business insights and communicate performance drivers to stakeholders.
  • Develop, refine and present investor materials and presentations that articulate strategy and results.
  • Support executives on fundraising activities—including preparation, investor communications and relationship management.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner on investor relations, providing insights and updates to internal and external audiences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience, preferably in top‑tier investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate development or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Investment banking experience with M&A and live deals.
  • Strong analytical skills and data literacy; ability to create clear, concise investment memos and financial models.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated self‑starter who prioritizes tasks and manages workload effectively.
  • Success‑oriented and holds oneself accountable for delivering key outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in technology, financial services, or high‑growth environments.

Compensation Range: $220K – $260K
