School Aide

Salary: $24 / Hour The School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, personal care and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department and/or supervising designee. Essential duties and responsibilities include: following through with IEP objectives, facilitating teacher-directed learning activities, assisting students in general education classes, communicating pertinent information to teachers, accompanying students during recess and lunch periods, adhering to confidentiality requirements, assisting with prescribed programs, assisting students in the development of independent skills, providing personal care assistance, and assisting in behavior management techniques. Minimum requirements include current certification, compliance with professional standards, participation in competency programs, current CPR, TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray, current health certificate, meeting federal, state and local requirements, successful completion of new hire training, understanding patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements, strong communication skills, computer proficiency, and being at least 18 years of age.
