Mechanical Engineer Contractor

Mercor is recruiting Mechanical Engineers as independent contractors working on a research project for one of the world's top AI companies. This project involves using your professional experience to design questions related to your occupation as a Mechanical Engineer.

Requirements

• Have 4+ years full-time work experience as a Mechanical Engineer
• Be based in the US, UK, or Canada
• Need access to a desktop or laptop computer; Chromebooks not accepted

Role Details

• We aim to make the hourly compensation rate competitive based on your background and location (U.S. scale listed; other regions differ)
• Work is fully asynchronous and can be done around your schedule
• You must commit a minimum of 15 hours per week (availability may vary week-to-week)
• Project anticipated to last through end of 2025, possibly longer (subject to change)

Pay & Legal Status

• Compensation meets industry standards for your role
• Payment weekly via Stripe Connect based on hours logged
• Classified as an “at-will” contractor
• Cannot support H1-B or STEM OPT status candidates
