About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Global Tax team and play a key role in supporting Gap Inc.'s global income tax function. As a Tax Senior Analyst, you will be instrumental in driving the accuracy and efficiency of our income tax provision and compliance processes. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams across the business to ensure timely and accurate tax reporting, while also contributing to strategic initiatives and process improvements. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to work on complex tax matters in a global environment.

What You'll Do

  • Support the annual and interim global income tax provision process by preparing workpapers for the effective tax rate, current and deferred income taxes, income tax disclosures, and all other related income tax reporting work products.
  • Assist in the preparation of federal and state income tax returns, preparing book-to-tax difference calculations and coordinating across the tax department.
  • Prepare schedules and collect documentation for internal management reporting and independent external auditors.
  • Coordinate across the business globally and partner with key finance and operational contacts.
  • Identify, research and communicate tax matters to team members, including new accounting pronouncements, tax law changes and business transactions.
  • Identify and assist with the creation and implementation of tax related process improvements.
  • Other duties may be determined by management to perform the necessary functions of the department on an as needed basis.

Who You Are

  • 1-4 years of experience in income tax accounting and/or income tax compliance.
  • Public accounting or public company tax department experience preferred.
  • Introductory proficiency in ASC 740 preferred.
  • Skills sought include: Advanced Excel, OneSource, Alteryx, Power BI.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Detail-oriented, critical thinker with strong analytic and teaming skills.
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to excel in both in-person & remote environments.
