Senior Revenue Accountant

Navan is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join the revenue accounting team for the Navan Expense product. This role focuses on month‑end close activities, accurate ASC 606 revenue recognition, and maintaining strong internal controls.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries for revenue and revenue‑related transactions, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with GAAP.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations to ensure complete and accurate reporting.
• Support external and internal audits by providing documentation, analysis, and explanations of revenue‑related transactions.
• Collaborate with the Product, Operations and IT teams to ensure data relied upon for revenue accounting is complete and accurate.
• Drive process improvements and automations within the revenue recognition cycle to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Ensure appropriate application of internal controls related to the revenue cycle to ensure SOX compliance.
• Adapt to changing priorities and projects.
• Act as a strong team player contributing to team goals.
• Provide revenue reporting and analysis to senior leadership and other stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• CPA license preferred
• 3+ years of experience in accounting
• 2+ years of auditing experience at a public accounting firm preferred
• Strong, in‑depth understanding of GAAP and the proven ability to research technical accounting topics
• Strong understanding of ASC 606
• Familiarity with SOX internal control compliance a plus
• Technical Skills:
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experience with Netsuite or other ERP systems a plus
  • Experience with analytics and automation tools a plus (e.g. Alteryx, ThoughtSpot, Tableau)
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and work with various software platforms

Pay Range: $75,000 USD – $135,000 USD
